How can I enter the Travel Photographer of the Year competition?
Entries open annually in January and close in October. Visit our website to select categories, upload images, and complete the submission process through our online portal.
What photography categories are available?
We offer portfolio categories for Adventures & Experiences, Culture & Heritage, Landscape, and Wildlife. Single image categories include Green Planet, Slow Travel, Monochrome, and Travel Portraits.
Are there age restrictions for participants?
Our Young Travel Photographer category accepts entries from photographers aged 18 and under, with separate divisions for 14 and under and 15-18 year olds.
How are images judged in the competition?
Entries are evaluated by professional photographers, editors, and industry experts based on technical excellence, storytelling ability, artistic merit, and originality in travel photography.
What prizes are awarded to winners?
Prizes include cash awards up to £10,000, international exhibition opportunities, software packages, and sponsored trips to Sri Lanka for selected categories.
Does TPOTY protect photographers' copyright?
We maintain strict copyright protection policies. Your images remain your property, and we do not request unlimited usage rights for submitted or winning photographs.
