Award-Winning Documentary Photographer in Oxford
I am a documentary photographer with a diverse portfolio spanning global travel photography, social documentary projects, and portrait work. My career began after studying architecture in Birmingham during the 1960s, followed by a decade in southern Spain during the 1970s. I later worked in Bristol's housing and community sectors before completing an MA in documentary photography at the University of Wales Newport in 2004. My commissioned work has covered architects, artists, musicians, charities, and community organisations. Since 2021, I have been based in Oxford where I currently chair Photo Oxford, the charity behind the international biennial Photo Oxford Festival. My practice combines architectural precision with a deep engagement with human stories, reflected in twelve self-published photobooks.I bring over 20 years of professional photography experience to every project, informed by my earlier career in community development. My work balances artistic vision with technical expertise, capturing both the beauty and challenges of the human condition. As an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society, I maintain the highest professional standards in all my photographic endeavours. My extensive travels have produced a rich archive of images from over 40 countries across six continents. I remain committed to creating authentic visual narratives that resonate with contemporary audiences while maintaining historical significance.
