Russell How Photography I am Russ and I'm a creative documentary wedding photographer based near Bristol in Somerset and I offer coverage anywhere in the UK. My style is natural, relaxed and informal. I won't ask you pose, look at the camera or say 'cheese' at any point I promise! I aim to capture real moments without being an influence on them, so you can just relax and enjoy your wedding.

2019 was fantastic and I really want to say a HUGE thank you to every one of the 42 couples I've had the pleasure to photograph during the year. I can't wait to get my teeth into 2020! Here's a snapshot of some of the stories I've been a part of during 2019. If you're getting married in Somerset it's worth checking out my Wedding Photography in Somerset page for example weddings and why I LOVE Somerset!

If you're getting married further afield that's absolutely no problem as I do offer full day coverage anywhere in The UK. Just let me know when and where using the contact form and I'll let you know my availability within 24 hours.

It's a huge experience every weekend from the moment I set off from home in the car until the end of the day. Being trusted to capture such an important life event is no small responsibility. It's a true privilege and I'm very grateful to be part of each and every wedding I'm invited to capture. I live in a little town in Somerset called Axbridge where everyone knows everyone and I wouldn't have it any other way.

If you're not sure which option is best for you or you would like something a little different, please do get in touch! I truly believe there is absolutely no better way to enjoy and preserve your memories than with a quality printed album that will last for generations. Hit the button to find out more. Pre-wedding shoots are a great way to become relaxed with the camera, for us to get to know eachother and have some fun before the day.

Creative documentary, meaning that I only get involved or take control for a few formal photos and only if you want them. Aside from that I am completely unobtrusive. I haven't ever missed a wedding and I would have to be seriously ill not to attend! If it did happen then I'm a member of several photographer support groups both locally and nationally.

My albums are all hand made, printed on thick archival quality paper and are available in a variety of cover materials and colours.

read more › Pre wedding photo shoots are the perfect way for you to get used to being photographed if you're a little shy and they're a great way for us to get to know eachother. Pre wedding shoots are available during the week and usually take 1-2 hours. They are relaxed, informal and lots of fun - honestly! I will normally choose the location but please let me know if you have somewhere special in mind. I will usually leave you to interact and have fun rather than pose you too much. The photos are more natural that way, but I can always give you some pointers if you need some help so don't worry!

read more › Russ is a consummate professional and worked hard all day to be in the right place at the right time in order to catch all of the little moments that make up the day. Having said this, he was a master of disguise, managing to be "there but not there" and to blend into the crowd. His hard work paid off and we were absolutely delighted with the results. I would have no hesitation in recommending him. Our vicar was of the same persuasion, saying Russ was the best photographer he'd ever worked with.
