Elizabeth Young Photography With over 11 years as a wedding & portrait photographer I can confidently say I know what I'm doing. Having someone photograph your wedding is a huge task, there's so much more to your day than having someone "just" take your photos. I tend to be the person who can guide you on what works & what doesn't, the dress doer upper, the taxi, the fetcher, the seamstress, the button hole pinner and the silly lady who pokes her tongue out at giggling kids.

My approach to taking wedding photos has been tried and tested shooting lots of incredible weddings. Thanks to that experience I know exactly how to tell the story of a wedding day in a way that's authentic and emotional - including all those big, key moments as well as the candid, fleeting little scenes that make up your wedding day.

When I'm not shooting weddings, I'm either photographing a family session or taking time out with my family, walking in some muddy field or at home bingeing on a Netflix series. Trashy TV has It's place in my life too, It's good to switch off from the day and a little mental chewing gum is good for me. I absolutely adore my husband of 10 years, we should have met a lot earlier in life but I'm so grateful to have him now.

This is your wedding day! A day you will want to remember in years to come. Once your celebrations are over and you're back from your honeymoon and your wedding day seems ages ago, I know you will be desperate to see your wedding pictures. Those months spent researching and planning, the attire, the flowers, the wishing time away until your day arrives.

Having photographed 100's of wedding day mornings captured many a bride during the morning preparations, I want you to get the best out of this with minimum amount of pressure on you. So first on my list is the location of your preparations. Are you planning on staying at a hotel, or perhaps you are getting ready at home or a relatives house. Either way these little tips will help wherever you are planning on getting ready.

Surprisingly enough, having a photographer based in the UK is perhaps more convenient than booking someone from aboard and you may not meet them until your wedding day. We can meet before your day, have a pre wedding session here in the UK so you really get to know me behind the lens and just generally get to know you as much as my other couples.

I'm not one for having my own photo taken so I fully understand why having a portrait session must be relaxed and fun! and whilst I won't pose you, I will however direct you, I won't make you do cheesy poses or jumping in the air etc as this just isn't my style. I'm more contemporary than cheese! A typical Natural Portrait session can take place at a location of your choice, ideally somewhere outside and ideally somewhere quiet away from crowds of people.

I will help you decide what to wear and what works best for your pictures. I'm very creative with my approach, adapting my own style which is unique to you. I aim to try a different style of image with every session as I like to be different and my editing is also very creative. When you arrive at my studio or on location, I have props and blankets but can also utilise your own items too.
