The Gibsons Photography

We used The Gibsons first as our wedding photographers and they were phenomenal- put us so at ease and their ability to capture natural moments was perfect and has given us the most beautiful pictures to treasure. We have continued to use Scott and Chantal for family shoots such as Christmas mini sessions for our two children. Their calm manner has meant we have some incredible, natural pictures of our two children who loved their sessions! Cannot recommend them enough

We hired Scott Gibson for my wife's 70th birthday party. It was a great night, and Scott absolutely captured the magical moments, not just of us but of all our guests. His high-quality photos will preserve memories of the event for a very long time. Worth every penny.

Had a lovely experience with Chantal and Scott. We had a newborn photoshoot and baby was 2 weeks overdue so they were accommodating in changing dates and even location when asked. They made sure we felt comfortable throughout the process. We had to reschedule a couple of times but they remained flexible and honest throughout. The photoshoot was a lovely experience and I cant recommend them enough. I love the pictures and so happy that I have something to lovely to remember my babys newborn days by! If in doubt, do the newborn shoot!

Scott is incredibly talented, kind, and sincere. I reached out to him on fairly short notice as I concocted a surprise proposal photo shoot on the Streets of Edinburgh. As my fiancee and I were travelling, our window for said shoot was fairly small, but Scott's dedication and expertise was not - after we settled on a general area, Scott helped plan and detail the exact location. He arrived ahead of schedule and was in perfect position to capture the moment (even though I may have anxiously rushed the proposal due to nerves). Scott didn't miss a beat. My fiancee and I were both understandably nervous, but Scott immediately put us at ease, guiding us in both action and multiple settings. We quickly felt that we were with an old friend, not just a hired photographer. I cannot say enough about the photos - with only 30 minutes on short notice, Scott directed us in multiple settings with multiple poses in each one - he even politely held back a crowd of tourists to capture the best shots. The photos, which we received much sooner than we expected, are everything we hoped for - natural, honest, and beautiful - I'm not sure if it was the camera he chose or how he developed them, but everyone says they look like they came out of a fairy tale because of how beautifully light and airy they seem. My fiancee and I reside in the states, but for anyone looking to hire an excellent photographer in Edinburgh or Glasgow, we could not recommend Scott any more highly!

We have used The Gibsons several times now for family photos, and every single experience has been wonderful. They have an incredible ability to capture natural, heartfelt moments in such a beautiful way. Nothing ever feels staged, yet the results are always stunning.

We got in touch with the Gibsons quite late in the game to see if they could organise a newborn shoot for our daughter. They responded asap and were super accommodating, managing to schedule us in with just a couple months' notice, working around the early arrival of our baby girl. They were super friendly both via email and in-person and we had a wonderful time during our photoshoot. Immediately, Chantal and Scott put the whole family (including baby, grandparents and two cats) at ease. They captured so many special moments and we couldn't be happier with our photos! We will definitely be getting in touch again as our daughter grows. We can't recommend the Gibsons enough!

As soon as I booked our wedding venue I knew I wanted to book The Gibsons for our photos because their style was exactly what I was looking for. I could not recommend Scott and Chantal enough, they put us totally at ease and were so helpful in the lead up to the wedding answering any questions I had.

I dont know how many times Ive said wow since we got our wedding photos back and theres so many in there that were taken without us even knowing and theyre some of my favourites.

Its so hard to pick a favourite and weve had nothing but people raving about them.

Scott and Chantal are so lovely and were fantastic when they came to shoot our newborn Brodie at home when he was two weeks old. It was relaxed and there was no pressure when we had to pause to feed him etc, we had a great chat and they got some great photos including this one which is a firm favourite with all of our family and friends! Would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone and hope to have them shoot us all again in the future

The Gibsons did the most amazing job of capturing our wedding day - we love our pictures so much and are delighted that these are the memories we are left with. Both Chantal and Scott made us, our families and all of our guests feel totally at ease on the day and were so helpful and efficient in the run up to the wedding and in getting our gallery over to us afterwards. From start to finish Scott and Chantal (Gibson Photography) made the whole process so smooth and seamless and dont get us started on the final result of our photoshoot; the pictures were incredible! From the super helpful and quick response emails prior to our session, to their utmost professionalism and making my partner and I feel at ease on the day of our shoot (we were super nervous as wed never had photos taken before). We had The Gibsons as our wedding photographers in November 2024 and honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience!
From our first enquiry right up until the day itself, we received prompt responses to all of our questions and regular updates. Unfortunately Scott was unable to act as second shooter on the day, but they organised another fantastic second shooter with no fuss and kept us in the loop to make sure we were comfortable with the change.
We received a highlights reel the day after the wedding and then our full album less than a month later. They captured some incredible moments throughout the whole day, edited to perfection. Throughout the day they made us feel at ease and were incredibly unobtrusive, leading to some wonderful candid pictures of our guests.
We'd absolutely recommend The Gibsons to anyone and if we're ever in need of photographers again they will be our first port of call!

I could not have asked for a better couple to be our wedding photographers! Scott and Chantal were amazing throughout the whole process, from booking, to planning, to the day itself and after! They are so friendly and know exactly how to take a good photo (even for those of us who aren't photogenic!). Scott and Chantal have captured photos for our engagement, wedding and most recently a family session with our one year old and we couldnt recommend them more!
Each photo session has been fun and relaxed, they really make you feel at ease in front of the camera. Scott and Chantal even introduced themselves and played with our one year old so she was comfortable when they started taking photos - this really shines through in the final pictures.

Scott came to capture our family on our son's 1st birthday - the photos are so beautiful, they're bright and vibrant and warm, exactly as we wanted to remember a special day for our family. Scott was an absolute star too, even putting up with a grumpy birthday boy who only smiled if he seen Cookie Monster singing to him haha! And all our guests commented on how lovely he was, it felt like he was just another member of the family celebrating with us he put everyone at ease. We had family nervous about having professional photos taken, and they all said after that they didn't feel shy or nervous at all with Scott. Thank you!

Scott and Chantal have been the most amazing photographers to work with. It's been a few months now since my wedding and still amazed at how stunning our photos are. They are very skilled, talented and professional at what they do. On the day they were very effeicient making sure to capture all the best shots with no delays. We couldn't be happier with choosing The Gibsons to photograph our wedding abroad in Scotland! As a bride from the US planning a wedding via email and virtual meetings, it's a bit scary to put all your faith in the vendors you choose without meeting in person first and hoping everything goes perfectly on your wedding day. Thanks to The Gibsons, it was perfect! Scott was very responsive via email when I reached out to inquire about their availability on our wedding day, and met with me on a video call to introduce himself, tell me about their business, and give me an idea of pricing for our photography needs. He helped me put a plan together leading up to the big day to ensure all the little details were captured. On the day of our wedding, he and Chantal arrived promptly on schedule and began taking photos of our prep right away. It was so nice chatting with Chantal during my prep time, while Scott assisted and photographed by husband getting ready separately. They were so professional during our ceremony and our photo session after, and happily chatting with us, that we didn't even know they were taking photos at certain points! They gave us clear direction for our posed photos so everything felt natural and didn't make us feel awkward at all. We had a bit of rain the day of, and they came prepared with umbrellas and navigated a golf buggy for us, and we got so many stunning photos in spite of the weather. We couldn't imagine choosing anyone else to take our wedding photos, and are so pleased with every single photo! If we're ever in Scotland again (which we hope we will be), we know who to call!

We booked The Gibsons for our wedding in June 21 and would rebook them again in a heartbeat! Not only are they both incredibly talented photographers but really lovely people too. They have such a beautiful 'natural' style of photography and captured our wedding day exactly as it unfolded. Both Scott and Chantal were a joy to be around on the day - it felt as though our friends were photographing us - there was no awkwardness and believe me when I say, they know how to make you look good! We have had so many compliments from our friends and family on both the beautiful photographs and just how unobtrusive Scott and Chantal were on the day. If you're considering booking these guys, do it! It will be one of the best decisions you make :)

Chantal and Scott were terrific from the moment we emailed them for further information to receiving our photos. They were always very responsive, asked great questions to best understand our expectations, they arrived early on our big day, and were really fun to work with. Chantal and Scott's really work as a dynamic duo to maximize the aesthetics of the couple and photos. They are very professional while still making the experience personalized and joyful.
