Richard Heeps

Established in 2007, Richard Heeps is a renowned film-based photographer and artist with a distinctive style characterised by seductive, highly saturated colours and sophisticated pictorial structures. With over three decades of experience exhibiting in museums and public galleries since the 1980s, our work reflects a deep empathy for subject matter ranging from cool descriptive interiors to landscapes and still life. Our practice maintains three studios - an external location studio, a darkroom for master prints, and a home studio for postproduction. We utilise vintage analogue cameras and 'American' colour influences to create handmade artworks accessible without compromising quality. Our gallery, Bleach Box, founded with Natasha Heidler, has participated in international art fairs across America, Asia and Europe since 2007.

We maintain direct connections with our global audience through exhibitions, collaborations with galleries, and digital platforms. Our Cambridge-based studio follows a Reduce, Reuse, Recycle environmental policy, using repurposed packaging materials and sharing offcuts with local schools and charities. We offer complimentary consultation services through our Gallery Manager Eleanor Jordan, who brings fifteen years of expertise in art and gallery management. Our extensive exhibition history includes prestigious venues such as the Royal Academy and The Photographers Gallery, with works featured in both private and public collections worldwide.
