I always knew I was going to work within the art field from being about 4 years old. Inspired by my lovely late Grandad, who spent hours teaching me how to draw, then, as I got older, about perspective and composition. He taught me a lot of tricks of the trade. 6 months into Art college, I picked up a camera, and I was hooked. I had found my direction!

With a good grounding in the arts and then in the whole area of film and darkroom I could really indulge my passion for capturing the perfect image. I spent a brilliant 12 years as a photographer for The Bolton Evening News and I am also a qualified teacher. Now I am loving the freedom and flexibility that being a freelance photographer allows, its much more family friendly and allows me to cover all kinds of events inc.

Portraits, lifestyle portraits with natural light, I photograph newborns, kids, families, bumps and pets. These are bespoke to every shoot I do depending on what the customer requires. I have regular clients Bolton College, Cancer Research, Bolton at Home and Bolton Council.
Services
Commercial packages can be tailored to suit businesses or organisations of all sizes.
These may include 'Head Shots', great for social media, team pictures, exteriors and interiors, images of products or people at work.
Whether a new company or one simply looking to have great images to represent their organisation, the project would start with an initial meeting to discuss individual requirements and a to allow a bespoke quotation to be provided.
Should the project require more than just imagery, I work closely with other agencies like Angela Kelly Freelance Journalist and Media Consultant and local Website Designer, Chris Dawes of Scruffymonkey Digital Media.
Capturing those milestone moments of children at playgroups, nurseries, schools, colleges and universities provides a visual catalogue of young lives to give pleasure forever.
I work with local venues to help them improve their photographic coverage.
I cover events, open days, plays and exhibitions and apprentices, headshots, case studies, proms, school visits and award presentations.
At BACKUP North West we have used Julies services on many occasions.
She has done photography at various events including AGMs.
She has also done headshots for colleagues and young people for our rebranding and new name.
Julie last year did the photographs for our charity calendar based on a film theme which was fantastic and for the last 3 years has taken our business/corporate photos for the business.
These are pictures of colleagues, young people, accommodation and activities all to reflect the wide range of services we deliver as a homeless charity.
If you have enjoyed looking through my images and would like to learn more about photography and using your own DSLR camera correctly, then why not book a one 2 one or small group lesson with me.
I tailor the lessons to suit your needs, it can be as simple as getting away from using your camera in auto mode to more advanced techniques, including lighting, landscapes portraits, editing or getting a system for your images.
I can help students with their studies GCSE, A-levels, BTEC, camera skills, projects and lighting skills.
Was photographing some rings for a commercial client yesterday and noticed the shadow the ring was forming so had a play!
Before I start shooting my 2013 weddings which I start next week I thought it only right to share with you some of my favourite shots from 2012.
Stars of the community awards went on dispute the weather, what troopers we all were, snow what snow!
