Original Art & Photography by James Jenkinson in Filey
I am James Jenkinson, a dedicated artist and professional photographer based in Filey, North Yorkshire. My creative journey began with a Fine Art degree at Northumbria University, which laid the foundation for over a decade of artistic practice. Specialising in collagraph printmaking, I strive to capture the intricate beauty of British birds through textured, tactile artworks that reflect their natural essence. Alongside my printmaking, I pursue photography, documenting wildlife encounters across the globe from Canada to Japan. My work is driven by a deep appreciation for nature, which I channel into original paintings, digital gicle prints, and limited-edition collagraphs.I offer workshops to share my techniques and maintain an Etsy store, Printed Nature, where my prints are available for purchase. Based in a coastal studio, I draw inspiration from my surroundings to create art that invites viewers to connect with the natural world. I prioritise prompt communication and aim to deliver high-quality results that exceed expectations, whether through commissioned pieces, exhibitions, or collaborative projects.

Services
Collagraph Prints
Using collagraph printmaking, I create textured representations of British birds. The process involves stay-open ink and textured materials to produce tactile, visually rich prints. Each piece captures the natural essence of avian species through detailed relief work.
Digital Gicle Prints
High-quality digital gicle prints reproduce original artworks with precise colour matching. These accessible prints allow wider appreciation of my bird illustrations and collagraph textures. They're available in various sizes for personal or commercial spaces.
Original Artwork
Unique original paintings and collagraph plates form the foundation of my practice. Each handcrafted piece demonstrates technical skill in texture creation and composition. Commissions are available for bespoke wildlife-themed artworks.
Wildlife Photography
I photograph wildlife globally, focusing on animal behaviour and habitats. The photography serves both artistic reference and standalone visual storytelling. Selected images are available as prints through my online store.
Printmaking Workshops
Hands-on workshops teach collagraph printmaking techniques to all skill levels. Participants learn texture application, inking methods, and printing processes. Workshops combine technical instruction with creative exploration of natural themes.
